The Presidents Cup Fan 101

For the first time in history, The Presidents Cup is being held at a venue that hosts a PGA TOUR event on an annual basis. Take a closer look at the differences between the two tournaments and illustrate the unique nature of The Presidents Cup compared to the Memorial Tournament, which many Dublin-Columbus fans have been attending for decades.

Youth Ticket Policy
The Presidents Cup is pleased to welcome youth 12 and younger to the event free of charge with an accompanied, properly ticketed adult (limit one child per adult).

Parking
Even though The Presidents Cup is being played at Muirfield Village Golf Club, the host site of the PGA TOUR's annual Memorial Tournament that many fans have been attending for decades, that doesn't mean they can get to/from the course on auto-pilot, especially when it comes to parking. Help us make sure fans know that there is no on-site parking at The Presidents Cup (like at the Memorial Tournament), so they will need to understand the location of the free parking lot and shuttle system.

Public Parking

• General parking is free of charge and will be located at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium (4850 Powell Rd.). Fans should follow directional signs coming off of Interstate 270 to the designated area.
• Free shuttles will run continuously from the Columbus Zoo to the main bus drop off located just outside of The Presidents Cup Fan Experience.
• Shuttles will start running one half hour before gates open until one hour after play concludes each day.
• Handicap-accessible parking is available free of charge and will be located in a designated area at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium (4850 Powell Rd.) Fans should look for directional signage for this accessible parking area.
• Free shuttles with wheelchair access will also run continuously from the Columbus Zoo to the entrance gate located off of Memorial Drive.

The Presidents Cup Radio and Citi presents FanVision
The Presidents Cup Radio allows fans to follow the Golf Channel and NBC broadcast while watching all the exciting action on site; fans can tune in to the broadcast audio and watch the telecast on one of the 15 video boards at Muirfield Village Golf Club. The Presidents Cup Radio will also broadcast PGA TOUR Radio, available on PGATOUR.COM and SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio. 

For the advance price of $15, fans receive a print-at-home voucher that can be redeemed at The Presidents Cup Radio booth located in The Presidents Cup Fan Experience. The on-site price is $20.

Citi is the presenting sponsor of FanVision, handheld devices that provide spectators with access to up-to-the-minute stats and action throughout the course. These devices will be complimentary for Citi cardmembers and will also be available for non-cardmembers for a nominal fee, with 100 percent of proceeds benefiting The First Tee of Central Ohio. Fans should visit the Citi presents FanVision kiosk located at the practice area to check out a device, or cardmembers can get theirs at the Citi Cardmembers Lounge on No. 12.The radio, which receives AM/FM, is for the fan to keep after the event is over.

Venues – Open to the Public

• Beers of the World - Located along golfers' left of No. 18 (behind No. 14 green), the Beers of the World area is a beer garden with expanded offerings from Anheuser-Busch. Draft beer choices in this open-to-the-public area include Stella Artois, Goose Island IPA, Hoegaarden and Shock Top, while Michelob ULTRA, Stella Artois, Cidra, Kirin, Beck's and Bass are available by the bottle.Fans are invited to relax at picnic tables in Beers of the World, where they can also purchase food [including the requisite hot dogs and brats to go with their beer(s)!]. The area also features upgraded restroom trailers, free Wi-Fi is available and a satellite merchandise tent with select merchandise offerings.
• The President Cup Club – proudly serving Ketel One - Another “must see” for fans 21 and over is The Presidents Cup Club, located near No. 14 green, where Ketel One Signature Cocktails and other refreshments are available. The Presidents Cup Club features 1,600 square feet of climate-controlled seating, as well as an open-air patio, offering fans a contemporary lounge vibe with views of golf, TVs with the live broadcast and PGA TOUR Radio on SiriusXM. The venue is the only enclosed, climate-controlled venue that is open to the general public and provides a view of the golf action.
• Citi Cardmembers Lounge - Citi cardmembers and their guests will have the opportunity to enjoy upgraded views of the 12th hole in the Citi Cardmembers Lounge and will receive preferred access through fast pass lines at concessions and merchandise venues throughout the course.
• Spectator Village (golfers' left of No. 14 green) - Open to the public featuring The Presidents Cup Cafe with a healthy menu of food and beverage options including low-calorie, low-carb and gluten-free choices. Additional concession fare from Montgomery Inn BBQ is also available. Fans can access free WiFi here as well.
• Memorial Park Bar (right of No. 1 tee) - Open to the public serving snacks and refreshments throughout the day, including wine, beer, spirits, soft drinks, coffee and tea. Fans can access free WiFi here as well.
• Practice Area (driving range) –Grandstand viewing of player practice session, satellite merchandise tent and free WiFi available, the practice area also features:
• Humana WalkIt – This year, golf fans are tracking every step they take as part of a national competition to see which 2013 PGA TOUR event can generate the most steps taken by its fans. At TOUR events featuring the Humana Walkit Challenge, golf fans can obtain a free Humana pedometer and track their steps during the tournament. The tournament with the most steps will win a new multigenerational playground from Humana and KaBOOM! – a national nonprofit dedicated to building playgrounds in neighborhoods that need them most. Through the Walkit Challenge to date, Humana has encouraged golf fans to take more than 28.9 million steps. The current number of steps to beat is 13.8 million. This effort was set at THE PLAYERS Championship back in May, so be sure to pick up a free pedometer and start taking steps to win a new playground for the Columbus-Dublincommunity!
• The Presidents Cup 2015 Korea Exhibition – The Presidents Cup will head to South Korea in 2015 for its first venture into Asia. Visit this exhibit to learn more about the golf course and the region where the event will be played in just two years.

Match-play FAQs
Golf fans in Columbus are more-than-familiar with the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide Insurance, which has been contested at Muirfield Village Golf Club since 1976. But there are many differences between a stroke-play event and a team, match-play event like The Presidents Cup. To follow are some examples of frequently asked questions that you are free to use, or come up with your own.

• What is match play? In golf, the match-play format is where one side (ie, the U.S. Team) plays 18 holes against another (ie, the International Team) and the result is determined by total holes won, not by cumulative score.
• How is a hole won? A hole is won by the side that holes its ball in the fewest number of strokes.
• How is score kept for a match? Score is kept by the number of holes won. For example, 1-up, 2-up, etc. When both sides have won the same number of holes, the match is said to be ‘All Square.'
• How is a match won? A match is won when one side leads by a number of holes greater than holes remaining to be played. For example, if one side is 5-up with four holes to play, that side wins 5 and 4 and that team earns one point.
• How is The Presidents Cup won? There are a total of 34 matches, so when one team has earned 17 1⁄2 points, that team has won the Cup.
• Can a match or The Presidents Cup end in a tie? Foursomes and four-ball matches can end in a tie on the 18th hole. In that case, each team would earn 1⁄2 a point. Singles matches on Sunday will be played to completion until the match or the Cup is won – meaning singles matches can go past 18 holes. The Cup may end in a tie.
• What is a ‘Side'? A side is a player, or two or more players from the same team who are partners.
• What is four-ball? Four-ball is a match in which two players from one team play against two players from the other team, and each player plays his own ball, hence the term “four-ball,” as there are four balls in play throughout the match. Of the two players on a team, the lower score determines the score for the side for that hole. For example, if one player on the U.S. Team makes birdie and his partner makes par, the birdie counts. If both players on the opposing team make par, the U.S. Team would win the hole.
• What is foursomes? Foursomes is a match in which two players from one team play against two from the other team, and each side plays only one ball. Team members play alternately from each teeing ground and they alternate hitting each shot until the ball is holed. This format is often called “alternate shot.”
• How are pairings determined? Prior to each round, the captains meet to determine pairings. The first captain selects his side to compete in the first pairing. Then, the other captain selects his side to compete in the first pairing, followed immediately by selecting his side to compete in the second pairing. The first captain then selects his side to compete in the second pairing, followed immediately by selecting his side to compete in the third match. This process continues alternating until all the pairings are done.
• Can the players practice between holes? Unlike typical PGA TOUR events, the players may practice putting and chipping after a hole has been completed and before teeing off on the next hole.
• What is a ‘concession'? When a player's ball is at rest, the opposing side may concede that the opponent has holed out in his next stroke. Concession of a stroke, hole or match may not be declined or withdrawn
• What does ‘Dormie' mean? Dormie is when one side has won as many holes as there are holes remaining to be played. For example, if a player or side is 4-up with four holes to play, the match is dormie.
