THE MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT PRESENTED BY NATIONWIDE SETS NEW GIVING RECORD TO NATIONWIDE CHILDRENS HOSPITAL WITH $1,676,500 DONATION

Dublin, Ohio – Officials of the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide announced today that the 41st playing of the prestigious invitational, concluded June 5, 2016, raised $2,166,000 for charitable organizations in central Ohio, including a record-setting $1,676,500 for Nationwide Children’s Hospital through an alliance with the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation. Since its first playing in 1976, the Memorial has eclipsed $27 million in donations to central Ohio charities, with more than $16.5 million going to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Two-time major winner Greg Norman selected Honoree for the 2017 Memorial Tournament Presented by Nationwide

Dublin, Ohio -- The Captain's Club today announced that World Golf Hall of Famer Greg Norman, a two-time winner of the Open Championship and runner-up in seven other major championships, has been selected as the Honoree for the 2017 Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide. Norman, 61, is one of six multiple winners of the Memorial Tournament, winning in 1990 and 1995.

 

Also being honored posthumously in 2017 will be major championship winners Tony Lema and Ken Venturi and amateur standout Harvie Ward.

FINAL FIELD ANNOUNCED FOR THE 41st PLAYING OF THE MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT PRESENTED BY NATIONWIDE

Dublin, Ohio – At 6:00 p.m. EDT Tournament Officials announced the final playing field for the 2016 Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide. World No. 1 Jason Day leads a contingent of 120 players for the 41st edition of the prestigious invitational Jack Nicklaus started in 1976.

 

The list of entrants includes, in order, seven of the top-10 from in the Official World Golf Ranking: No. 1 Day,  No. 2 Jordan Spieth, No. 3 Rory McIlroy, No. 4 Bubba Watson, No. 5 Rickie Fowler, No. 8 Dustin Johnson and No. 10 Justin Rose (2010 Memorial winner). The 2015 field also boasts eight of the top-10 on both the FedExCup points list and current PGA TOUR money list.

 

In addition to Rose, seven past winners of the Memorial Tournament will be returning to Muirfield Village Golf Club, including K.J. Choi, Ernie Els, Jim Furyk, Matt Kuchar, Hideki Matsuyama, Carl Pettersson and David Lingmerth, the 2015 winner.

Dublin, Ohio – Officials of the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide announced today that the Tournament has accepted entries from world No. 4 Bubba Watson, world No. 5 Rickie Fowler and world No. 10 Justin Rose, a past Memorial winner, to compete in the 41st edition of the prestigious invitational hosted by golfing legend Jack Nicklaus. The additions of Watson and Fowler give the Tournament the top five players in the world.

 

The Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide is May 30 – June 5 at world-renowned Muirfield Village Golf Club.

Dublin, Ohio – Officials of the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide announced today that World Golf Hall of Fame member and five-time major champion Phil Mickelson will compete in the 41st playing of the prestigious invitational Tournament hosted by golf legend Jack Nicklaus.

 The Memorial also has accepted commitments from its 2014 winner Hideki Matsuyama, as well as major champion and 2002 Memorial winner Jim Furyk.

 The Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide is May 30 – June 5 at world-renowned Muirfield Village Golf Club.

Dublin, Ohio – The Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide hosted the sixth annual Legends Luncheon presented by Nationwide today, a unique, award-winning fundraiser that brings to life the alliance between the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. All proceeds of the Legends Luncheon directly benefit the young patients and families that Nationwide Children’s Hospital compassionately serves each day.

 

The goal of the Luncheon is to support advancement of research medical equipment and care in the areas of most need at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. To that end, this year’s Luncheon raised a record $1,100,000 for the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation and Nationwide Children’s Hospital alliance. The 2016 amount equals the largest single-year donation in the event’s history and brings the Luncheon’s six year total to $4,005,363.53.

Officials of the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide announced today the return of the FORE! Miler presented by OhioHealth, a 4-mile road race that will kick off the 41st playing of the prestigious PGA TOUR event hosted annually by golf legend Jack Nicklaus, May 30 – June 5, 2016 at Muirfield Village Golf Club. The race serves as a fundraiser that highlights and benefits the alliance between Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

 

The FORE! Miler presented by OhioHealth will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 26. The race will follow a route that starts and ends at Muirfield Village Golf Club and includes Memorial Drive, Avery Road, Brand Road, Muirfield Drive and Kinross Court. After the race, runners and walkers will enjoy a free Post-Race Party at the Golden Bear Club, an enclosed, climate-controlled venue located between the fairway at Hole No. 10 and the green at No. 14 at Muirfield Village Golf Club. The FORE! Miler is limited to the first 3,000 runners and walkers.
